Step-by-step Instructions on How to Make a Double Strand Gemstone Necklace:

 Step 1: Choose Your Beads:

Select an assortment of gemstone beads that coordinate harmoniously with your teardrop pendant. Consider the colors, shapes, and sizes that will complement the pendant and create visual interest in your necklace.

Step 2: Prepare Your Workspace:

Lay out your beads, pendant, wire or thread, crimp beads, jump rings, clasp, pliers, and scissors on your work surface. Use a bead mat or tray to keep your beads organized and prevent them from rolling away.

Step 3: Measure and Cut your Thread:

Determine the desired length of your necklace and add a few extra inches for attaching the clasp. Cut your thread to the appropriate length using scissors. This necklace will consist of two strands. The first thread should be 34 inches long to achieve a 14-inch strand when folded in half for stringing, with extra length required for finishing and tying the necklace. The second strand should measure 38 inches to accommodate the completed necklace's 15-inch length.

Step 4: Starting the Necklace:

Take the 34 Inch thread and fold it in half. Pull a Size 11/0 Seed Bead to the middle. Start forming a knot. Tie 2-3 knots. Take the two strands of thread and place a needle on both sides. (Repeat the same step for the 38" long thread.)

Step 5: Add a Knot Cover, Bead Cap & Jump Ring:

Pull a knot cover onto both threads to cover our seed bead and knots. Using a plier close the two sides of the knot cover together. Add an 18 Gauge jump ring to the knot cover. Using Plier close the jump ring shut. Pull a bead cap onto both threads. This is the starting point of the necklace.

Step 6: Start Stringing your Beads onto the first strand of the Necklace:

For this design there are 16pcs of 6mm Lava Rock beads, followed by 22pcs of 6mm Tiger Eye Beads and 23pcs of 4x2mm Hematite Spacer beads alternating each other. Add another 16pcs of Lava Beads to finish the 14" strand.

Step 7: Add a Bead Cap, Knot Cover & Jump Ring:

Add a bead cap followed by a knot cover and a size 11/0 seed bead. Take one needle and loop it through the seed bead once again. Take the two threads and start forming a knot. Tie 2-3 Knots. Take both needles and push it back through knot cover the bead cap and the next 5 beads. Close the knot cover together with a plier. Add a jump ring to the knot cover and close it shut with pliers. Cut any excess thread sticking out.

Step 8: Add Soldered Jump Rings:

Add two soldered jump rings to both ends of the necklace. Secure them with pliers and jump rings. This will be used to attach the strand of the necklace together.

Step 9: Repeat the same steps for the 15" Strand of the Necklace:

Repeat the same steps until Step 6 for the 38" Inch strand of thread.

Step 10: Start Stringing your Beads for the second strand of the Necklace:

For this design there are 17pcs of 6mm Lava Rock beads, followed by 12pcs of 6mm Tiger Eye Beads and 13pcs of 4x2mm Hematite Spacer beads alternating each other.

Step 11: Add your Tiger Eye Teardrop Gemstone Pendant:

Add a 24x14x8mm Teardrop Tiger Eye Semi Precious Stone Pendant as the center piece or focal point of this Necklace.

Step 12: Continue Stringing the Rest of the Beads:

Add 12pcs of 6mm Tiger Eye Beads and 13pcs of 4x2mm Hematite Spacer beads alternating each other. Followed by another 17pcs of 6mm Black Lava Rock Beads.

Step 13: Add a Bead Cap, Knot Cover & Jump Ring to Finish the Necklace:

Add a bead cap followed by a knot cover and a size 11/0 seed bead. Take one needle and loop it through the seed bead once again. Take the two threads and start forming a knot. Tie 2-3 Knots. Take both needles and push it back through knot cover the bead cap and the next 5 beads. Close the knot cover together with a plier. Add a jump ring to the knot cover but do not close it shut yet. Cut any excess thread sticking out.

Step 14: Attach the second strand of the Necklace to the Soldered Ring:

Take the end of the necklace with the open jump ring and attach it to the the soldered jump ring (on the other strand of the necklace.) Using your plier close the jump ring shut once its attached to the soldered jump ring. Repeat the same step for the other side.

Step 15: Add a Chain Extender to your Necklace:

Add a silver chain extender to your necklace using pliers. Add a tiger eye beads with a ball head pin for extra design. Use your plier to attach the jump ring onto the soldered Ring.

Step 16: Add a Lobster Clasp:

To finish your necklace add a lobster clasp onto the soldered ring on the other side using a jump ring and pliers.
